Prepared for Major
- Natural Earthquakes

- Major fires
- Major – Man made Terrorists attack, riot and war
- Minor – Equipment failure, Theft or Sabotage.
Location Specific Risks :
-
Earthquakes – Chances are Low – Negligent seismically vulnerability and historic records don’t suggest earthquake prone. BCP in place for data restoration.
-
Floods – Major rivers or lakes not present nearby. Occassionally Rains cause water logging for short durations. The work centre has drainage around the building to ensure speedy draining
-
Tsunami – Possible but rare, during last Tsunami (Dec 2006) sea water didn’t reach anywhere near office location.
-
Major fires – Low Probability – Fire exits & access to fire fighting vehicles and water availability adequate. BCP is in place for data restoration.
-
Terrorists attack, riot, war – Low Probability - Chennai is not very prone to these historically. Two directional roads in front of the building would ensure quick evacuation. BCP in place for data restoration.
-
Minor –Equipment failure, Theft or Sabotage – Probable- Technical help desk and State of the Art Biometric security in place. BCP in place.
Study on Business Impact
Business Impact study has been done account wise and the following done
Recovery Time Objective (RTO): The tolerable maximum length of time that a business process can be unavailable.
-
Against each process, RTO is defined and factored in BCP
Recovery Point Objective (RPO): The maximum level of work in progress that can be lost -
Regular Back up periodicity is tuned to address RPO and hence the max work in progress lost would be only from last back up.
Critical / Vital Records : Records or documents, backups of data in removable media that are irreplaceable; cause considerable inconvenience if destroyed; take considerable expense to recreate. -
Identified and retained in Fireproof safe.
